Why we selected these ingredients~
* Organic Cocoa Butter ~ Cocoa butter is one of the most stable fats known. This quality, coupled with natural antioxidants, prevents rancidity – giving it a storage life of two to five years. The velvety texture, pleasant fragrance and emollient properties of cocoa butter have made it a popular ingredient in products for the skin, such as soaps and lotions. The moisturizing abilities of cocoa butter are frequently recommended for prevention of stretch marks in pregnant women, treatment of chapped or burned skin and lips, and as a daily moisturizer to prevent dry, itchy skin.
* Organic Beeswax ~ improves the condition of skin and is known for its healing properties. Beeswax locks in moisture, and protects skin from damaging environmental factors. It softens skin, creates a long-lasting protective coating against the elements, is a naturally nourishing moisturizer as well as being anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-allergenic and a germicidal antioxidant.
* Organic Coconut Oil ~ The most exciting benefit that coconut imparts on the skin is moisture. Because of its unique combination of fatty acids (lauric, capric, caprylic, myristic and palmitic), it has a way of penetrating skin that few other oils have.
* Sweet Almond Oil ~ Almond oil had been used extensively for its health benefits and as a beauty aid. It is rich in Vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc, besides a number of other minerals and vitamins, which explains why it is so good for our heart, skin and hair.
* Unrefined Shea Butter ~ contains natural UV protection, and has been used for centuries by the natives of the Ivory Coast and Senegal to heal and protect skin due to its anti-inflammatory capabilities. It has been shown to increase the healing of wounds and improve scars. It is used to heal eczema, burns, rashes, severely dry skin, and to lessen the irritation of psoriasis. Shea butter penetrates deep into the skin, gives back its elasticity, moisturizes and nourishes skin and is excellent for dry, damaged and maturing skin.
* Lavender Essential Oil ~ Has many wonderful healing properties. At its most basic, it acts as an analgesic, can help healing processes, and can also help to reduce inflammation. Lavender offers an all natural solution to some of the potential germs and bacteria that can form around cuts and minor abrasions that result from dry paws.
